Pine Springs Minnesota is a small community on the western border of Washington County. Pine Springs Village was formed in 1959 and since that time has only grown to a total of about 600 acres. There isn't a commercial district here, but Pine Springs is bordered by Mahtomedi, Oakdale, Lake Elmo, and Grant, meaning you can find whatever you need nearby. This village on the edge of Long Lake acquired city status in 1974.
Pine Springs is so tiny that all city jobs are filled by volunteers. Students are bused to Mahtomedi schools, as there are no schools in town. The rural atmosphere is furthered by the fact there isn't a city water or sewer department, no street lights, and no sidewalks. For most residents, the lack of city amenities is more than made up by the fact that they aren't in the city!
Despite the lack of commercial establishments in the immediate area, Pine Springs homes are not that far away from the necessities of life. Pine Springs is only ten miles from Saint Paul and just over fifteen miles from Minneapolis! Residents of the tiny town of Pine Springs have easy access to Highway 36 and Interstate 494, though, placing an infinite number of employment options within reach.
