The Diamond Lake neighborhood is located in the southern portion of Minneapolis within the greater Nokomis Community. Its boundaries are Diamond Lake Road, Highway 62, Second Avenue South, 55th Street East, Interstate 35W, Cedar Avenue and Highway 77. The area is named after the lake found in its west end; the neighborhood is known as the "unsung jewel" of southern Minneapolis.

Diamond Lake Park has more than 30 acres of land, 40 acres of water, and has been a centerpiece of the district since the area was developed in 1926.
