The Howe neighborhood is in the Longfellow Community of Minneapolis. Its borders are 34th Street, West River Parkway, 40th Street and Hiawatha Avenue. Part of the neighborhood is in the Mississippi River valley. The neighborhood is named in honor of Julia Ward Howe, who wrote “The Battle Hymn of the Republic.”
