Kenny Minneapolis Real Estate

The Kenny neighborhood of Minneapolis is located in the Southwest Community. It is bordered by 54th Street, Lyndale Avenue, Highway 62, and Logan Avenue South. The district is named for Sister Elizabeth Kenny, a nurse who developed a method to treat polio.

The Kenny neighborhood is a thriving, active community, partly because the Kenny Neighborhood Association is involved in neighborhood revitalization. The area is mostly residential with the majority of the homes here being single-family residences. Many of the homes were constructed in a 20 year span from 1930 to 1950. The Bungalow home is the most prevalent architectural style, but there are also two-story brick and stucco homes in the area.

Kenny is home to the Grass Lake wetland, a 27 acre natural preserve that has many beautiful sights to behold. Even with this escape from the urban landscape, Downtown Minneapolis is still only minutes from Kenny.
