Lyndale is a neighborhood in the Powderhorn Community of Minneapolis. Its borders are Lake Street, Interstate 35W, Stevens Avenue, 36th Street and Lyndale Avenue South. The area was named for Lyndale Avenue.
The Lyndale neighborhood is predominantly residential. Most commercial areas here are concentrated around Lake Street, home to various businesses, restaurants, cafes and shops. Lake Street stays busy year-round with shoppers and those looking to soak in all the wonderful places to eat and drink.
Lyndale is home to some 8,000 residents. This community is very active and works hard at maintaining and updating their properties, helping others and furthering Lyndale's prowess as one of Minneapolis' best neighborhoods.
Many of the homes here were built at the beginning of the 20th century, meaning they are older homes with lots of historic charm. That being said, many of the homes have been restored or updated to meet the needs of a 21st century homebuyer.
