The Shingle Creek neighborhood is located within the Camden Community on the northwest outskirts of Minneapolis. It is bordered by 53rd Avenue North, Humboldt Avenue North, 49th Avenue North and Xerxes Avenue North. The neighborhood’s northern and western borders are also the city limits of Minneapolis.

The district is named for Shingle Creek, which runs through its eastern half. This wonderful winding body of water is really a fun place to check out. Bald eagles are said to hangout around the creek, even more reason to enjoy the wilderness in this area. Shingle Creek also has a lot of fantastic parkland to enjoy, the best of those parks being Creekview Park. Around these outdoor spaces are many scenic walking and biking trails, both of which remain popular year-round.

Most of the homes in Shingle Creek were built in the 1960s when the area developed. The homes here range in architectural style, but the two most featured types are Bungalows and one story Ramblers. The variety in style and price gives potential buyers something to consider when checking out Shingle Creek.

A Homebuyer's Assistance Program attracts first-time home-buyers to the area.
