Standish is a neighborhood can be found in the southeastern area of Minneapolis within Powderhorn Community. Its borders are 6th Street, Hiawatha Avenue, 42nd and 43rd Streets, and Cedar Avenue. This neighborhood was named after a poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, “The Courtship of Miles Standish.”
This neighborhood has a stable population of active residents who adore their quiet neighborhood. The area has gorgeous parks and facilities within those parks, great recreational facilities and plenty of other amenities. One of Minneapolis' best parts, Lake Hiawatha Park, is within the Standish limits. The park is home to both Lake Hiawatha and Hiawatha Golf Course.
