Windom Minneapolis Real Estate

Windom is a neighborhood in the Southwest Community of Minneapolis. It is bordered by Interstate 35W, Diamond Lake Road, West 54th Street, West 62nd Street (Highway 62), Lyndale Avenue South and Highway 121. The area was named after William Windom, who served as a United States Senator in the 19th century.

Windom has great access to all of the Twin Cities. Its close to both Richfield and Edina and the bountiful retail areas in those cities, as well as remaining only minutes away from Downtown Minneapolis. The world famous Mall of America is also close, offering Windom residents even more chances to shop, dine and enjoy the entertainment of America's biggest mall. Windom also has its own shopping district filled with locally owned businesses along Penn and Lyndale Avenues.

Windom has a healthy mix of single-family residences and multi-family residences. The single-family homes are platted in a grid format, with the homes placed together in blocks that are lined with beautiful trees. Most of the homes here are one story or one and a half story, and the architectural styles vary based on the year the home was built.

Windom is a popular community due to its location at the edge of Minneapolis. The southern area of the neighborhood houses an industrial area, but the rest of the community is residential with a few businesses sprinkled in.
